57Empowering Car Dealers to Own the Brand Name
This forum is design to discuss, encourage and share best practices for car dealers who want to increase their visibility on the Internet.
Automotive Marketing on a Small Budget
In a slowing economy, car dealer marketing budgets are severely restricted so any tasks that auto dealers can do on their own to help sales makes sense.
So, I'll be sharing ideas that car dealers can employ at little or no costs with the main commitment being time. Yes, time to write about the cars that they sell and the services they provide.
If car dealers understand that good content will be rewarded by the search engines, then targeted content for their brand in their State can yield great organic traffic. But before car dealers venture out and start writing about the cars they sell, they should make sure they have branded their own dealership name.
Test Your Dealership Name in Google
A simple test is to go to Google and search for your dealership name.
Ideally, you want to own the top positions on page one and push off third party lead collectors. Third party lead collectors are benefiting from the millions of dollars car dealers have spent on branding. Most have dedicated pages with the dealer name and address, with a quote form. If dealers want the lead, they can pay up to $20-25 per lead.
How do you add additional page one listings for your dealer name? The answer is much easier than you might think. It revolves around placing content about your business in free business directories, blogs and social networking portals.
If you make a commitment to publish content about your dealership across the most powerful directories and portals, you will be pleasantly surprised how powerful these free "instant website" tools can be.
Now add press releases and social bookmarking and you can fight to own your brand name on Google.
